Discover the foundations of handpan playing through a gentle, structured learning experience designed for complete beginners and anyone looking to build a mindful relationship with the instrument. In this Level 1 Master Class, you'll learn that playing the handpan is more than striking notes—it's about developing awareness, touch, rhythm, and flow. Each lesson guides you step by step, helping you create a relaxed technique while cultivating a meditative approach to music.

Over approximately one hour of guided instruction, the course is divided into 11 easy-to-follow video lessons that gradually build your confidence. Beginning with an introduction to the handpan and the philosophy behind the practice, you'll move through essential techniques including proper hand placement, finger positioning, posture, movement, and the natural mechanics that produce a beautiful, resonant sound.

Rather than overwhelming you with complex musical theory, this course emphasizes developing a comfortable connection with the instrument. You'll learn how small adjustments in touch and movement can dramatically improve your tone while reducing unnecessary tension in your hands and body.

Throughout the lessons, you'll be guided through simple exercises that encourage fluidity, coordination, and mindful repetition. These foundational patterns are designed to help you establish healthy playing habits from the very beginning, making it easier to progress into more advanced techniques in future levels.

By the end of this master class, you'll have a solid understanding of proper playing mechanics, greater confidence in your movements, and the ability to create calm, flowing rhythms with intention and presence.
