During our premenstrual time it is common for women to feel either exhausted or a build-up of frustration. For women who feel that they have pent up tension, this is the perfect practice to release what is no longer needed. The postures are based on the “Shakti Bandhas” and are designed to bring new vitality into areas which might feel tense or stuck. Hatha yoga unites all elements of the body – from the physical to the breath, emotions, thought and spirit. A practice such as this during our inner autumn can enable us to interrupt negative thought patterns, lift our mood and express emotion through movement.
