Intro to Inner Yoga of Menstruation Unwind the Feminine Series
Bex provides an overview of the great Menstrual Archetype of the inner seasons of the menstrual cycle. As a very general pattern, the menstrual month can be broken down into four seasons, or four different energies. Daily self-observation of these inner seasons can help women identify a pattern in what could otherwise feel like chaos! Our inner seasons can have a huge influence on our moods, energy levels, creativity, libido and much more. By adjusting one’s daily practice to honour these shifts, women empower themselves to ride the inner waves with ease and grace and support their system to receive (rather than override) the wisdom of their menstrual cycle.
Scotland born and raised, and Oxford educated with a graduate degree, MPhil in Development Studies, Bex Tyrer has been Asia-based for the past thirteen years, where she has lived her passion for Yoga and yoga activism. Her study of women in yoga’s history, as well as her years of observations in the studio has also led her to raise important questions as to the ability of contemporary yoga to support women’s health and self-esteem. Bex uses her platform to explore some of the critical issues of contemporary yoga (including issues of inclusivity, gender and the dangers of commodification) whilst working to ensure that postural yoga is supportive of women’s health as well as social and environmental justice
