Latihan 45 min ini bagus untuk meningkatkan kelenturan tubuh, menjaga kesehatan sendi serta ketenangan pikiran. Yin Yoga bersifat pasif, dingin dan statis. Kata kunci dalam Yin Yoga adalah penyerahan diri (surrender). Jika Yang Yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Power, dll.) banyak mengaktifkan otot, maka dalam Yin Yoga disarankan untuk mengendurkan otot dengan menahan pose beberapa menit. Tujuannya untuk “membuka” tubuh kita dengan sendirinya tanpa dipaksa, didorong ataupun ditarik (pasif). Ini juga merupakan cara yang diinginkan untuk mengurai atau “melepas” fascia (jaringan tissue) yang terdalam di tubuh kita.  Yin Yoga juga mengandung unsur Mindfulnes Meditation (mengamati kondisi tubuh, marasakan sensasi dan emosi yang muncul saat menahan gerakan).

Meet the instructor

Thofan Meninao

Thofan was introduced to yoga at The Yoga Barn in 2015 with Emily Kuser’s 200 hour High Vibe Yoga YTT. There he fell in love with the practice and saw yoga as a lifestyle he wanted to adopt. He learnt from many teachers such as Mark Whitwell, Bex Tyrer, Tina Nance, Mei Lai Swan, Balsundra Srinatha and many more. Since 2018, he has been teaching yoga with a focus on the practice of mindfulness.
